How can computational tools revolutionise the way we understand society, culture, and human behaviour?

Join us for the official launch of the NUS Centre for Computational Social Science and Humanities (CSSH), a new interdisciplinary initiative that brings together the methods of computing with the questions and insights of the social sciences and humanities. Serving as a vibrant nexus for innovation and collaboration, CSSH aims to advance research that bridges data, technology, and human experience.

This launch marks the beginning of an exciting platform for scholars, students, and practitioners to explore new frontiers in knowledge creation and redefine what it means to study society in the digital age.

Prof Atreyi Kankanhalli

Atreyi Kankanhalli is Provost’s Chair Professor NUS School of Computing and co-director Centre for Computational Social Science and Humanities. Her research on human-AI collaboration and digital innovation has received numerous grants and awards and has appeared in premium journals with high impact.

Assoc Prof Kokil Jaidka

Kokil Jaidka is an Associate Professor at NUS at the Department of Communications and New Media, with an affiliate position at the Institute of Data Science. Her research examines how digital platforms, AI systems, and emerging technologies shape social interaction, and political engagement.

Min-Yen Kan (BS;MS;PhD Columbia Univ.; SACM, SIEEE) is an Associate Professor & Vice Dean of Undergraduate Studies at NUS. Min is an active member of the Association of Computational Linguistics, currently serving as a co-chair for its Ethics Committee & survey editor for the Journal of AI Research.

Prof Peter Millican

Peter Millican is Tan Chorh Chuan Professor at NUS, and Gilbert Ryle Fellow and Professor of Philosophy at Hertford College, Oxford. He has published extensively across epistemology, ethics, philosophy of AI, logic and language, and religion, but especially on the work of David Hume and Alan Turing.
